Nouns are yummy. The end.

Mother says I have to sound like I am a teacher. I reminded her I'm a cat, and she said that was no excuse for being snarky.

Nouns are words that refer to people, places, things, or ideas.

Nouns can be the subject or the object in a sentence.

I (noun) am (linking verb) a (article) cat (noun).

Mother (noun) loves (verb) me (noun).

Tessa (noun subject) climbs (verb) trees (noun).

Lolah (noun) rolls (verb) in the dirt (prepositional phrase).

Each sentence begins with a noun, which is the subject of the sentence. The subject of a sentence is the person/place/thing/idea that is doing the action (verb).

I (subject) am a cat.

Mother (subject) loves me (object).

Tessa (subject) climbs trees (object).

Lolah (subject) rolls in the dirt.

REMEMBER: If you aren't sure what the subject of the sentence is, then ask who is doing the action (verb).

I am a cat.

Who is a cat? I am.

My mother loves me.

Who loves me? My mother (subject) does.

The cousin who bullies me climbs trees.

Who climbs trees? The cousin who bullies me does.

In the dirt, Lolah rolls.

Who rolls in the dirt? Lolah does.

It's treat time!

Until I write again...
